Fundamentals and Technology of Duplex Imaging


Course Content:
Basic acoustic physics, sound waves, interaction of ultrasound with tissue, transmission, reflection, attenuation,  transducers, ultrasound pulse formation, phased array technology, beam sweeping, beam steering, emission to display process, scanlines, focusing, gain compensation, axial, lateral resolution, slice thickness, temporal resolution and frame rate, 2D system controls, effective use of transducers, 2D artifacts, hemodynamics, Poiseuille’s law, Bernoulli principals, resistance, pressure, volume flow, basic Doppler principles, color Doppler, flow directionality, Doppler system controls, and spectral Doppler interpretation.
The Certificate of Ultrasound in Phlebology ( C.U.P.) is in line with the ACP Training requirements to achieve procedural credentialing in Endovenous laser and Radiofrequency.

Participants who complete the course will be awarded a Certificate of Ultrasound in Phlebology (C.U.P.)

Duration: 1 year
Prerequisites: None for doctors and specialists. ACP approved graduate level qualification is required for those training in sonography.

Advanced Certificate of Ultrasound in Phlebology (A.C.U.P)

Advanced Technology Topics and Clinical Applications of Ultrasound Imaging in Phlebology


Course Content:
Interpretation of color, spectral and power Doppler; Doppler artifacts, power, intensity, biological safety of ultrasound, quality control, advanced processing, harmonic imaging, spatial compounding, frequency compounding, 3D/4D, matrix array transducers, elastography, synthetic aperture, digital system processing, DICOM, PACS

Clinical applications: lower extremity venous imaging, upper extremity venous imaging, lower limb arterial, abdominal vascular applications, basics of cerebrovascular examinations, case reviews

Duration: 1 Year
Prerequisites: Successful completion of C.U.P.
Assessment: Written Exam
